Useful edition for those who know German but translation just OK
By Amazon Customer
Useful because it has the German beside it, but the translation is not always the best. However, if you have German, you can use the English as a stepping stone to your own translation. The Loeb edition of the Greek classics has the same value, though their translations are more literal and more useful. I find, on occasion, that Baylor translations are too free and he misses the subtlety. I give him credit for trying to equal the poetry and rhymes, but, let's face it, it's almost untranslatable in some places.
